Custom silicone profiles
extruded to your cross-section

Solid cord, U-channel, D-profile, hollow and multi-lumen sections from 30 to 80 Shore A. Send a 2D drawing or a physical sample and we cut the die against it.

WHY THIS SPEC

The die is the product.
Everything after it is process control.

Profile extrusion is decided in the first second, when the compound leaves the die and swells. Die swell is predictable for a given compound and section, but it changes with hardness, with cure speed and with pull speed. That is why a new profile always starts with a trial run and a measured cross-section, not with a promise that the drawing will be met.

We cut the die, run a sample batch, measure it against your drawing using a profile projector or a vision system, and only then set the production parameters. If the section has a thin leg or an undercut that will distort, we say so at the drawing stage and propose a change, because a die cannot fix geometry that the material will not hold.

OPTIONS

Four ways to specify it

Same compound family, different construction. Mixing two options on one order is common and usually cheaper than splitting the purchase.

Solid Cord & Rod

Round, square and rectangular cord, 1–20 mm

30–80 Shore A · coil

U-Channel & D-Profile

Edge trim and push-on seals

0.5–8 mm wall · coil

Hollow & Multi-Lumen

Bulb seals and multi-lumen sections

custom section · 40–60 A

Co-Extruded Profile

Two compounds or two colours in one section

hard / soft combination
WHERE IT RUNS

Applications this line is specified into

01

Door & window seals

Compression seals on cabinets, enclosures and access panels.

02

Machine guarding

Edge trim on sheet metal and polycarbonate guards.

03

Automotive sealing

Under-hood and body seals with heat and vibration duty.

04

Appliance gaskets

Oven, dishwasher and refrigeration door seals.

05

Lighting profiles

Diffuser retainers and end caps on linear fixtures.

06

Equipment seals

Cleanable profiles for medical and lab equipment.

DIMENSIONS

Section, tolerance and hardness

Tolerance follows RMA class 3 on the dimension that matters for sealing. Tell us which dimension that is; holding class 3 on every face of a complex section is not the same job.

FAQ

Questions engineers ask first

How much is the die and how long does it take?
A simple solid section runs a few hundred US dollars and about 10 working days; a hollow or multi-lumen die is more and takes longer. The die is a one-off and stays yours. We quote it separately so you can see what the tooling actually costs.
What is the minimum order?
300 m for a new profile in a standard compound, 500 m for a co-extruded or a special compound. A trial batch of 50 m is available before that if you need to test the section in an assembly.
Can you hold the tolerance on a soft 30 Shore A section?
Partly. Soft compounds deform under their own weight on the conveyor, so the achievable tolerance is wider than on a 70 Shore A section. If the drawing assumes class 3 on a 30 A bulb seal, we will flag it rather than accept an order we cannot hold.
Do you supply spliced or vulcanised rings?
Yes. Cut-to-length, spliced with a vulcanised joint, or moulded as a closed ring if the section is better moulded than spliced. The joint strength is typically 60–70 % of the parent material, which matters on a pressurised seal.
Can the profile have adhesive backing?
Yes, with a pressure-sensitive tape applied in line. We recommend it only for positioning, not for structural holding: silicone has low surface energy, so the tape bonds to the substrate far better than to the profile.

Send the cross-section.

A 2D drawing with the critical dimension marked, or a 100 mm cut of the part you are replacing. We come back with a die quote, a tolerance statement and a sample lead time.
